It's Time

All in favor of this little twosome starting a blog say "EYE"!!!!

You guys have so many great things to share, like this gem...

Oh how we love grandma's chicken coat and love you even more for bringing it back!!
And what about this little number...

Looking good Rick. Overalls are a look and you work it out so well.

So get crackin!!!!

Footnote: They started a blog!!! Hooray! And I know it's "aye" and not "eye"... I was being funny. Geez. I guess y'all really do think I'm stupid. Thanks for the vote of confidence jerks.

OH NO THE BIG 5-0!!!

She's FIFTY!
(insert high kick here)
So, my loverly mother turned 50 on Juneteenth, so a party was in order...
a surprise party!!!
Mike's idea for the party became my responsibility and for that fact I don't know how she didn't find out. I can't lie to that woman to save my life and my dad somehow didn't give it away either... that my friends is a true miracle.

We had a good number of people show up to help us celebrate. We had to tell her that Brookie wanted to decorate for grandma, have cake, and yell surprise like we did for her on Monday so that was the lie that bought us time. And then when the lights came on I'm not sure she knew what to think. All in all it was a good time with a lot of the people that love her.

Happy Birthday Mom!!

It was a week for birthdays and this little one turned four on June 16th. Every time you'd ask her when her birthday was she'd tell you "Um, my birthday is in next Junes." Come on, that's cute, right?! She had told Grandma for months that they were going to have a Dora the Explorer party, decorate the floor, have cake, and yell surprise... but not too loud. And that we did. We even played pin the tail on the donkey and the way it seemed to go was that the older you were the worse you did... except for me. I held my own and would have won if the four year old wouldn't have cheated.
Happy Birthday Baby Girl!!

I've been told I got skills...

So, Meggie had her baby shower and she got sooooo many cute things for her little bundle of joy. When she told me that she was preggers with a boy I thought it would be a great idea to make her little one a baby quilt.

Why would I think that you ask? I have no idea.

But I finished (thanks mom) and look how cute it all turned out!

Baby quilt, bibs, and burpies

I started another one at the same time... not a good idea. If you're gonna have kids soon, don't tell me. I don't wanna hear it. I'll feel like I have to make you stuff. Give me a few months. Maybe I'll make you some cupcakes... maybe.

More Adventures With Fire

So, Mike, Clint, and I had some fun with fire again last night. My showing wasn't so great, but the guys did a great job. They even searched the web to find a better way to do it besides filling your mouth full of powdered sugar. You fill part of a water bottle full of powdered sugar and then make a torch with a wire hanger, cotton string, a cotton shirt, and lots of lighter fluid. Sounds totally safe.... and way less messy, right?

Here's the guys in action. Prepare to be amazed.

A funny thing happened today...

So, this morning was like any other morning. Well, not ANY other morning I was actually on time to work today...

Oh, and I got "let go" too.

I almost forgot! HA! Silly me... It's a funny little story. My manager and co-worker were a little more emotional than I was about the whole thing, which was quite touching, but it was a short process really. Cut and dry. I was the logical choice to "downsize" in a small office that's trying to make money. I understand the way a business is run. I was the one that said that my job was totally unnecessary in the first place. I kinda knew it would happen. Honestly, I just wanted out of that place, but was to comfortable to make the move on my own... so it was done for me.

So, I have joined the ranks of the unemployed, the downsized, the let go, the fired. Here's the thing though, I'm not all that broken hearted about it. I mean, yeah, it sucks to lose your job obviously, but really I'm gonna be alright. My baby cousin told me that God was telling me to go back to school full time and that may very well be true. I'll take that into consideration. It's a great idea and that way I might actually finish.... imagine that.

Pardon me for the next few weeks if I seem a little crazy then, alright? I'll just be over here in my corner trying to sort out my life. It should be fun. Let the adventure begin!

NEWS FLASH.... I MISS MY COUSIN

A Song for My Cousin
by Holly
Oh baby cousin!!
I miss you like a flower needs sunshine
And I can't wait till I see you on the fourth of July
And we party like rock stars in the NYC
And I get to stay in your mouse house
And sleep on the floor and laugh until 3am
And your roommate will hate us
'Cause we're loud and sing
All the time
This may not make sense to anyone else, but it makes sense to Panda. I love you cousin!!

Blogsylvania Here I Come!!!

Well, since I didn't even get to christen my own blog (Michael... I will find out how you did that soon enough) we'll just begin with a few thoughts about blogging, shall we?

I've thought about having a blog for quite some time now... and when I say that I mean I've actually written posts in my head and they have comments and everything saying how funny/witty I am and that I should write for People/Newsweek/Rolling Stone and junk like that.

...sigh... If only that was a lie.

Anywho, here I am... blogging. Yup, it's gonna be great. I'm gonna ramble about stuff that mostly no one will care about and I will do it true Holly fashion, whatever that means. I'm excited to make my big break into Blogsylvania though. Take me or leave, but please don't actually leave me. I kinda like you and I know you kinda like me, otherwise you wouldn't be here. Here's to blogging!

Hey Holly...This is your blog speaking...

You need to post something on me ASAP before someone breaks into your blog and does something like...hey..wait a minute...you can't be in here! Help!!

-sigh-

Holly, you've let someone infiltrate me. If only you had posted something earlier this would never have happened. Oh why don't you listen to your all wise and ever-so-handsome brother?

WHY!?!?
